Important Notice:
An important meeting was held Sunday, June 26th at the Concho Valley Archery Association range. There were about 27 members in attendance. The purpose of the meeting was to get the membership involved in taking the necessary actions needed for the club to continue to function as a legal non-profit organization. The meeting was called to order by the only remaining officer of the club, Vice-President David Archer. After a brief explanation of the circumstances that required a meeting, an election was held to fill the vacant officer positions for an interim period, and a discussion was held to determine the wishes of the members and decide what directions the club should take for the future. The following members were elected to serve as officers for the interim period until the next elections:
President—Mark Barta
Treasurer—Ron Scott
Secretary—Rosanne Scott
In addition to the elections, it was decided that the upcoming TBOT shoot and the Fireman’s shoot were major priorities and that immediate action was needed to meet the association’s obligations.
The club committed early in the year to hosting the two important shoots in June. Due to the unfortunate recent disruptions, it is now necessary that immediate action be taken in order to meet these obligations; as a result, there will be a meeting Thursday, July 2nd at 7:00 p.m. at the Outdoorsman. All members are invited and encouraged to attend.
Although the recent events have been unpleasant, the past is done and the club has a responsibility to look to the future. It was expressed by the new officers and the members in attendance Sunday that the future Concho Valley Archery Association conducts business and operates with a wider involvement from the members at large. All members are encouraged to take part in the Association. Future board meetings will be scheduled and the times, dates, and agendas of the meetings made public. All members are encouraged to attend to express their concerns and share their ideas. More information concerning contact information for the officers will be forthcoming. In the meantime members should feel free to respond through email by emailing me at rscott@angelo.edu, or by directly contacting David Archer at the Outdoorsman.
